Then on 10th September, I had an Arctic Tern at Westport, picked CJW up and headed down to Gailey, where we saw the Sabine's Gull again, the Red-necked Grebe and another Arctic Tern. Onto Blithfield, where a rather good visit saw a Curlew Sandpiper, Ruff, Knot, two Barwits, a Greenshank plus more Arctic Terns and a Black Tern. At BGP's, we had more waders (ten species for the day) with eleven Green Sandpipers, two Greenshank, two Ruff and a Blackwit, plus three Water Rail, five Little Egrets and a bizarre sight with two Hobbies chasing a Peregrine (bit confusing at first!).

Then on Sunday 11th September, following a quick walk round Westport, I headed for Gailey in the hope that the reported Shag were still there. En route, I had to divert to Belvide to see the Manx Shearwater that SN had found that morning. The Sabs Gull was seen again. I just had enough time to pop into Gailey for the two Shags to cap off a fine spell.
